New Chicks

Huh. Just noticed that my posterous posts weren't autoposting to blogger. Wonder what that's about. I haven't blogged in awhile, there's been too much afoot. This is just a quick drive by post, unfortunately. Sort of to say, no I haven't dropped off the face of the earth and we're all still alive. I shall do a proper holiday post soon.

It's been an emotional holiday as we weren't able to get away this year. For some reason, just taking off is so much easier on me. It's hard to deal with all the happy holiday people. I don't want to rain on their parade and yet I don't want to have their fake cheeriness shoved down my throat. It makes me want to hide under the bed.

I visited Gracie's grave and said a prayer for her. Greg and I were in town doing some shopping and he remarked on all the teenage girls and their obsession with Twilight. It made me wonder would Gracie like that kind of thing or would she be completely immune to it like Elisabeth is? It's strange to think of her as a teenager, she'll always be a little girl in my heart.

We celebrated Hanukkah with Aunt Barb and her gang of friends and also celebrated feline babies Cassie and Spike's birthday. They're six now and tearing around the house like they owned it. My dog Phoebe has been unwell. She's not eating well and I'm trying to make her as comfortable as possible.

That's about all for now, as I have chickens and sheep to feed. We have some new chicks and they're keeping me busy. It's cold here but not as brutal a winter as those I remember from years gone by. No real snow as of yet, to which I am extremely grateful. Hugs and love to all and enjoy your holiday with loved ones.
